AMPI Chapter 51 Puerto Peñasco is very excited about the certification of brokers in our area. In conjunction with the certification, a special course for broker education has been created. The course consists of training for experienced real estate agents in operating a real estate business in Mexico, business considerations such as taxes and record keeping required under Mexican law, responsibilities of brokers to agents and clients, commissions and taxes, business ethics, and more. Everyone passing the course will earn the title “Accredited Professional Broker,” and will be entitled to use the letters “APB” after his or her name, and in advertising and promotions.

While everyone is welcome to take the course, scheduled for January 19, 20, and 21st, the instructional material is intended for experienced real estate agents, and is open to anyone who is interested in being a broker in the Puerto Peñasco area, or who wants to brush up his or her skills. This first course is mandatory for all existing brokers, and the hours will count toward the state of Sonora real estate license renewal requirement.

The class will cost $75 for AMPI members, and $100 for non-members. There is a special price of $50 for AMPI brokers taking the first course. Registration and payment are required no later than 15 January 2016. The Broker Education Registration form can be downloaded from the AMPI website, www.PuertoPenascoAMPI.com. Contact Treasurer Rebecca Palomino, RebeccaPalomino@gmail.com, AFTER completing the registration form, to register for the class.

AMPI Chapter 51 Puerto Peñasco is also planning the 96-hour real estate course that satisfies the education requirement for licensure of real estate agents in the state of Sonora, Mexico. That course will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in February. The last day for registration for that course is also January 15th. Cost of the course is $850 U.S. dollars for AMPI members, and $1100 U.S. dollars for non-members. The price includes all course materials and the noon meal on class meeting days. Of course, payment may be made in pesos at the exchange rate in use at the time payment is made. A registration form can be found on the AMPI website at the following link: http://puertopenascoampi.com/join-ampi/.
