The Cholla Bay Oyster House patio is a favorite spot for seaside seafood, but these days it has stiff competition from the Upstairs Sports Bar with its happy hour and game-day specials.
The Sports Bar is air conditioned, has five televisions, plus, there’s a great view of Cholla Bay, Black Mountain and the Pinacate volcano. You may even see dolphins playing in the bay at the same time you are watching the Miami Dolphins play Tampa Bay.
“It’s a comfortable setting where you can gather with friends, enjoy good food and drinks, and cheer on your favorite team,” said Cholla local Gabriel Galeano. “In my case, that’s the Kansas City Chiefs.”
During happy hour, every day from 4 to 6, and during game time this football season, domestic (Mexican) beers are just $2, tequila, rum and vodka cocktails are $4 and Peñasco Silver tequila shots are $2.50. Or get a bucket of six beers and a half order of steamed clams for $15, and a medium pepperoni pizza for $8.
The Cholla Bay Oyster House has been in business since 2016 and the Sports Bar was added two years ago.
