February will be a very busy month for the Rocky Point Rotary Club. February 11th, the Saturday before the Super Bowl, we will host our annual fundraiser. The Rotary “Fish Bowl”. This event will be held at the Shrimp Park/Plaza and will be a day you don’t want to miss! Several local restaurants will set up booths and sell their delicious cuisine. We call this the “Taste of Peñasco” event of the year. There will also be many artists and other interesting vendors displaying and selling their goods that day. There will also be music, door prizes and a 50/50 dollar drawing so make sure you mark your calendar for February 11th, 2023!!
As we embark on Spring, which is the most perfect weather in Puerto Peñasco, we will be hosting fellow Rotarian Clubs from the United States. When these clubs spend time in our community, they bring with them financial resources. We will work in sync with these clubs on projects to improve our community. I will give you a run down in the future on the projects we completed.
One of our club members, Loly (Dolores) Monteverde is a recent candidate for the 2025-2026 District Governor. This is a great honor for our club to have such a candidate. Loly has been a past president of our local Rotary and has been very active in all Rotary projects! Loly we are so proud of you and know if elected you will be a great leader.
This year our club will continue to meet at the Friendly Dolphin Restaurant at 9am every Wednesday. We will also continue our 8am briefing in English that same day each week.
