For the past decade, Educarte has dedicated its resources to meeting the educational needs of Peñasco’s most underserved children. In 2023, Educarte shifted its focus to meet the needs of Peñasco’s young people with disabilities. This was a huge commitment for the nonprofit because of the additional resources required for disabled children.
Educarte not only provides a sound educational curriculum for its students, but it also provides necessary physical, occupational, and speech therapy to the students attending Escuela de Victoria. Seventy-five students served since 2023 living in Rocky Point, have benefitted from Educarte’ s programming.
It goes without saying that these services cost significantly more per student than the cost of education for the general population. Educarte has become an expert at finding ways to generate funds with revenue sources from donors, storage units, the thrift store, office spaces, and parent tuition contributions. Even with multiple revenue streams, Educarte still has a large waiting list, and more is needed to continue to address the community’s needs.
Because Educarte is celebrating 10 years of service to Peñasco’s young people, it is offering 100,000 reasons for you all to celebrate with us. As part of its 2026 fundraising strategy, Educarte is hosting a raffle. On April 30th, 2026 (Children’s Day), one lucky person will win 100,000 pesos (approximately $5,800 US). Thanks to the generosity of our patrons, the Duncan Family and Chad Cloward, Educarte is also offering 2nd and 3rd prizes. One lucky person will win a 4-day 3-night stay in Las Conchas, while another will win a 3-day 2-night stay at Bella Sirena. Raffle tickets cost 500 pesos or $30.00 US. Ticket sales are limited to 2000 tickets, which makes for pretty good odds of winning. Imagine what you could do with 100k pesos, and if you don’t have any immediate ideas, you could always donate it back to Educarte!!
