November is my new favorite month. Isn’t the weather absolutely perfect? Gorgeous mornings, noon and nights! And so much going on this month with the largest gathering being the 25th Anniversary of the Rocky Point Motorcycle Rally. Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since it started. I haven’t heard any predictions as to how many bikes are expected, but I’m guessing that we are going to beat last year. Vibes seem good, weather is fantastico and everyone seems ready for a little vacay and relaxation. Don’t forget to be very careful driving down and around town while the bikes are here as many of them travel in groups so passing them can get a bit sketchy and dangerous for all. We all want to get to Peñasco safely and have a great time so take your time and be extra vigilant.

I just drove the highway toward the end of the month on my way to a Raptor Rally in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and it was nice and patched – a smooth ride. Speaking of the Raptor Rally – what a great future event for Puerto Peñasco – we have Jeeps and side-by-sides so now we need Raptors! We could do it much better though (no shade to Havasu). I think there were around 625 Ford Raptors, Ranger Raptors and Bronco Raptors that registered for the event. I would love to see 600 Raptors cruising Peñasco. We could even allow a few TRX’s LOL.

I mention the Rally because I forgot to thank Lynelle and Head Out to Rocky Point Shuttle last month who had been transporting me all over while I shuffled cars around trying to get my truck to the dealership (and then another dealership) for repair before my warranty expired. I had about 400 miles before it ran out so the situation was urgent since it was a transmission problem I was having. After some gaslighting, dishonesty and/or complete incompetence from my (former) dealership where I have been with since I purchased my truck in 2018, I ended up at Jones Ford in Buckeye, AZ after a call and complaint to Ford Customer Care. Jones Ford is the bomb, and they did me a solid and saved me nearly $14k by actually listening to me and finding and fixing the problem. They actually even found another one that I didn’t realize I had. Brand new transmission and cam phasers later and I was able to attend the Rally and get back to 4x4ing at home. So thanks to Jones Ford and a big shout out to Chris in Service and to my warranty company – they all saved me tons of pesos.

I also wanted to remind everyone of Head Out to Rocky Point Shuttle because not only are they super accommodating, offer door-to-door service, but they get to go to the head of that long border line you may encounter on weekends and definitely will encounter on holiday weekends. With the Bike Rally coming up, I would highly recommend jumping on the shuttle and catching a ride if you’re not biking down. They run all week, have like 5 vans constantly on the road, so find their ad in this issue and save yourself the hassle of driving down and waiting in line getting back to the U.S. If you get to ride with Lynelle, the owner of Head Out, she is a blast and is so knowledgeable about Puerto Peñasco and all of the areas in-between. She has books and binders and photos and snacks and, of course, The Rocky Point Times Newspaper. I love riding with her. If you’re staying on Sandy Beach, you can pretty much walk everywhere and we have tons of cabs and if you’re out at Encántame Resorts, you probably won’t even want to leave LOL so the shuttle is a great option to not driving.

Well, I gotta hit the road and get ready for lots of fun this month. Hope to see you all at the beach! Thanks again to all our advertisers, contributing writers and readers – you guys keep us going, keep everyone informed and entertained!
