We kicked things off with our very first Pickleball Tournament, sponsored by Robert Brunstein and held at the basketball courts behind Michigan Market. With 24 enthusiastic players – perfectly split between guys and gals – it was a fantastic day of friendly competition and great community spirit.

Be sure to check out our Facebook page and website for photos and to see who was crowned King and Queen of the Court! Players and spectators alike had a blast, and we even heard some interest from potential newcomers ready to give pickleball a try. Thank you to everyone who played, officiated, cheered, and donated – you made this event a huge success!

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21st, when we’ll host our 2nd Annual Amateur Soup Contest at Big Ragu’s Plaza from 2:00–5:00 PM. Do you have a killer soup recipe that everyone loves (except maybe little Gabriela 😉)? Then you won’t want to miss this chance to compete for the grand prize! Applications will be available on our website starting February 1st, so get yours in early – spots fill up fast!

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and visit EmptyBowls-PuertoPenasco.com to see photos, updates, and other exciting FUNdraisers and volunteer opportunities coming up in the months ahead.

We work year-round to address hunger in Puerto Peñasco, and we always try to bring a spirit of fun to the joy of giving – after all, we are all neighbors helping neighbors. ❤️
