On a beautiful spring evening in Goodyear, Arizona, 66 guests gathered under the open sky for A Taste of the Farm, a farm-to-table dinner designed to do more than nourish. It was an experience rooted in a simple idea: when we plant intention, cultivate community, and come together with purpose, the harvest can reach far beyond what we see.
From the moment guests arrived, the evening invited them into that story. The experience began with a thoughtfully curated pop-up market – an homage to the land and the hands that nurture it. A flower bar featuring blooms from Duncan Family Farms offered guests the opportunity to create their own small bouquets, a quiet reflection of gathering beauty from what has been grown. Nearby, a vibrant display of seasonal vegetables and local offerings invited guests to slow down and engage their senses.
This was more than a prelude to dinner. It was a reminder: every harvest begins with care, patience, and intention. As the sun began to set, guests were guided to beautifully set tables where the next chapter of the evening unfolded. Chef David Cruz and his team curated a menu that honored the ingredients in their purest form, in collaboration with our Presenting Sponsor, Sprouts. Each course reflected the journey from soil to plate – simple, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the land.
Craft beer pairings by Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. complemented each dish, while Greenwood Brewing created a special brew, ‘Let it Roar’, exclusively for the evening, now available at their brewery for purchase, adding another layer of collaboration and care. Together, these elements formed more than a meal; they created an experience of shared appreciation for what happens when people come together to cultivate something meaningful. But the true harvest of the evening extended far beyond the table.
A Taste of the Farm was held in support of Fundación Educarte and the Victory Foundation, organizations dedicated to expanding access to education, therapies, and resources for underserved communities – particularly children with special needs – in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.
The work being done in Puerto Peñasco requires time, care, and sustained support. Educarte provides specialized education and therapeutic services that allow children to grow, develop, and thrive, representing seeds planted years ago, now continuing to flourish through community support. The Victory Foundation further strengthens these efforts, helping connect resources and foster initiatives that uplift families and create lasting impact. Events like A Taste of the Farm are part of that ongoing cycle.
In Arizona, community members, businesses, and supporters gather to plant new seeds through generosity, awareness, and shared purpose. While the dinner itself lasts only a few hours, the impact continues to grow across the border, reaching families and communities in meaningful ways.
For those inspired by the evening, the opportunity to continue nurturing that impact remains. Whether through supporting future events, learning more about the work in Puerto Peñasco, or sharing the story with others, each action contributes to the cycle, planting new seeds that will one day become part of the harvest.
Because when intention is planted with care, and community comes together to tend it, the results can reach far beyond a single table. They can transform lives. Interested in the next Taste of the Farm event? Sign up for updates here: https://atasteofthefarm.org.
