Wow! OM Goodness! The storm that beached a couple of pangas and a pleasure cruiser a week or so ago (early July) has come to fruition! The pangas are back out to sea and getting us our beloved shrimp! The poor pleasure cruiser didn’t fare as well!
I came down July 13th to complete a couple projects in our condo. So, Thursday the 16th I headed down to our beach for a little respite! Tired from the work. Drop the chair in the sand and chill. I noticed a couple 2×4’s washing up on the beach. No big deal, it happens on occasion. The next thing in knew there are chunks of wood, vinyl, benches and other pieces washing up on Sandy Beach! I immediately looked East toward Playa Bonita (Malecon) and saw the remnants of what used to be the boat in question! The sea was devouring it, to put it lightly. chunks, from s to m to l and even to xxxl were everywhere! Take heart! This is the best part of this saga… everyone on the beach from owners to vendors to tourist to resort staff were all on the beach grabbing chunks and placing them in piles! My vantage point was from Playa Bonita to Phase 3 at Las Palmas. Talk about Penasco Strong! It was beautiful! What a great community we have here! #penascostrong
Stay Blessed!
