As another beautiful Puerto Peñasco summer draws to a close, all of us at Empty Bowls-Puerto Peñasco want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has supported our mission over these past few months.

Whether you purchased a ticket, attended one of our FUNdraisers, donated an item, supported us through a local business, or volunteered your precious time, please know that you have made a difference. You have helped us do something truly meaningful: bring food to the tables of our neighbors who are struggling with food insecurity right here in our own community.

It is easy to take a full pantry and a meal on the table for granted. But for some of our neighbors, putting food on the table is a daily challenge. Families, individuals, and those facing difficult circumstances need help, and that need doesn’t disappear when summer ends.

That is why Empty Bowls-Puerto Peñasco keeps going, month after month, all year long.

We are an all-volunteer, grassroots organization with a simple but deeply important mission: to help feed our neighbors. Throughout the year, our volunteers work hard to raise funds, purchase staple foods, prepare food packages, and help get those packages into the hands of people who need them. We build partnerships, welcome new volunteers, and continually look for ways to make a greater difference.

Every dollar raised helps us continue this work. Every volunteer makes our efforts stronger. And every person who chooses to support Empty Bowls becomes part of something bigger than a single event. Together, we are building a community that cares for its own.

This year, we’ve shared plenty of laughter, good food, and wonderful memories at our Amateur Soup Cook-off, our ever-popular Tacos & Tequila, and our most recent Beach Burger Bash. These events are fun, but their purpose reaches far beyond the festivities. The joy we share at our fundraisers helps provide something essential to our neighbors: food, dignity, and the knowledge that their community cares.

And now, we are preparing for the most important fundraising event of our year!

Join Us for Our 3rd Annual Professional Chef Soup Cook-off!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, November 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bandito’s—the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

For just $20, your ticket includes a beautiful, handmade ceramic bowl and samples of delicious soups prepared by our talented professional chefs. We’ll also have live music, yummy desserts, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction filled with opportunities to find something special while supporting a very worthwhile cause.

But we’d like you to think about what that $20 really means.

It means more than a bowl to take home, or a delicious afternoon spent with friends. It means standing alongside your neighbors who may be wondering how they will provide their next meal. It means helping ensure that the work of putting staple foods into the hands of those who need them can continue throughout the coming year.

Your $20 ticket is an investment in our community. Your generosity can help turn a day of fun into months of meaningful support for people who need it most.

This year, for the first time ever, 40 lucky guests will get the VIP treatment – private shaded balcony seating, a welcome drink, dedicated wait staff, and exclusive small bites, plus the full soup tasting everyone else enjoys, all for just $60.

As we gather around bowls of delicious soup, we are reminded that a bowl can represent so much more than something that holds food. It can represent compassion, connection, and the simple belief that no neighbor should have to face hunger alone.

We invite you to join us. Bring your friends, bring your family, and help us spread the word. Purchase your tickets early and encourage others to be part of this wonderful community effort.

Tickets are available now at www.emptybowls-puertopenasco.com.

If you’ve supported us before, thank you for standing with us. If you haven’t yet joined us, we hope this will be the year you do. And if you are unable to attend, please consider sharing our mission with others who might be able to help.

Because hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation. And neither does our commitment to helping our neighbors.

From all of us at Empty Bowls-Puerto Peñasco, thank you for believing in what we do, for caring about the people who live in our sweet little town, and for helping us make a difference, one bowl at a time.

Come for the soup. Take home a beautiful bowl. Leave knowing you’ve helped fill someone else’s bowl.
