A Fishing Story

I have been fishing since I was 5 years old. My dad was a fisherman nut. He would go fishing whenever he could. I was his only son so he started me young. I have a lot of memories wading down a creek or sitting on rocks fishing for trout in Montana. I have written stories titled Fish Tails and Beer here in the Rocky Point Times describing my adventures with him. I always think of him when I am out there fishing. He would never go on a boat and I think it was because he couldn’t swim.

And The Winner of the 2014 Rocky Point Times Sunset Photo Contest is…

Wow!!! Is all I can say about the overwhelming response of amazing sunset photos sent in to enter in our 2014 Rocky Point Times Sunset Photo Contest. There were over one hundred entries and most of the photographs were simply spectacular! One thing is for sure…Rocky Point is one, amazing beach town! The process of sorting through the photos was rather lengthy but rewarding to see all of the colors, photo angles, cloud coverage, water hues and overall beauty of our Sea of Cortez. After narrowing down the photos to 10 finalists, my distinguished panel of judges (well, ok, it was not that distinguished if I was on the judging panel!) selected the top 3 winners. Several times we resorted two of the photos to choose our First Place winner and our Second Place Winner. But as luck would have it, two photos repeatedly tied for First Place in Votes, so I decided to have two First Place Winners and a Runner-Up Prize for the Third Place Winner.
