Holy Patty Plenty has it been a couple of busy months for me and my family and friends! It has been a whirlwind of fun times in Rocky Point, traveling to Mykonos Greece, then back home, then to the Jersey Shore, then back home, then to Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Finland, then back home, then to the Positano in the Amalfi Coast of Italy for a bit of an unplanned extended stay and finally back home! I really look forward to some beach time and doing NADA except soaking in some sunshine, a few bevies and relaxing with friends!
I was able to attend some super fun activities in Eastern Europe especially the wedding of my cousin Matej and his new bride Vickie in Slovakia. Recently, I just returned from Positano, Italy and if you have never been, it is a great time to take a break from the summer heat in Mexico and see the coast. Like Rocky Point, it is truly magical and features massive, sky-high cliffs folding into the sea. Almost all of the Almalfi Coast is covered in an array of colored homes that look down from all different levels into the sea. My niece Tori and I were able to rent a large boat one day which luckily featured a driver (I don’t drive boats well especially on vacation with some suds and fun) who drove us down the coast for 4 and ½ hours which was just stunning. I think I took 25 videos of the fascinating scenery! Like our Mexican food in Rocky Point, the food was truly authentic Italian cuisine which was fabulous, and I am not really a foodie! Lemon cake, lemon liquor (limoncello), lemon sorbet, lemonade, lemon salad seemed to be everywhere along the coast as well as their homegrown lemons which are super sweet and world famous. The artwork in town was also incredible…….. I ended up purchasing four new paintings for my new condo in Rocky Point! My friend Cathy Pea always talked about Positano and now I know why! AMAZING!!!!
Thanks to Jozey D, Kamanda and Ronnie I have been spending a bit of time while in town at Bottoms Up Yacht Club or as most call it, just Bottoms Up. If you have not been, I would highly recommend you check it out. It is a bar and restaurant located in the Mirador section of town and offers really great home cooked food. The burgers are some of the best I have tasted anywhere in town! They have a full array of food and a complete bar, and you can always find a solid group of locals there to meet and hang out with and make new friends and memories. When you go, ask for Alie. She is the bartender and makes some really fantastic drinks and the service always comes with a smile! Bottoms Up has an indoor and outdoor area and features live music some nights. It also has a pool table for those pool sharks out there.
Some exciting news happening coming to Encantame Resorts with the opening of their racquet club in the next couple months. It will be the largest in the State of Sonora and features 16 courts – 13 pickleball courts, 2 tennis courts and 1 sports court. Let the expansions of both services, facilities, resorts and fun activities continue to thrive and grow in town!
Uh-oh…it’s BIRTHDAY MONTH in October for me…yikes, look out there’s bound to be some fun times on hand! Cheers to all of our October birthdays and may they find you in Rocky Point with a sunny smile on your face! So break out your pumpkins, costumes and parkas….autumn has arrived! One of my favorite quotes about the season is…
“The weather just went from 90 to 55 like it saw a state trooper.”
ADIOS AMIGOS…..see you at the beach…..
GOD BLESS….
Marco
