If you’re reading this, you’re probably in Rocky Point right now…YOU LUCKY DOG! This is the best time of year to visit our little slice of paradise! We have a suggestion to make your time in Rocky Point even more fabulous; pay a visit to Barb’s Dog Rescue and fill your soul with some doggie love!
This is not your typical U.S. animal shelter. At Barb’s Dog Rescue, our dogs live in groups in super spacious enclosures and spend a significant amount of their time each day playing with each other in either the dog park (yes, we have one and it’s huge) or in one of our other play yards. They are happy, their living arrangements are so good for their socialization, and they love visitors! When you come to see us, expect to be greeted by one of our fabulous staff members, and once you step inside, receive a royal welcome from the stars of the show, our dogs. We suggest wearing pants, closed-toe shoes, and long-sleeved shirts to prevent scratches from all of the happy paws you’ll receive!
Barb’s Dog Rescue is an AZ-registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We receive NO government grants or funds, and rely entirely on kind, dog-loving people for everything we have. When we save a street dog, they almost always require advanced veterinary care to help them heal from various serious illnesses and oftentimes, injuries as a result of being hit by cars or suffering horrific abuse. Thanks to your financial support, we’re able to provide it. Your monetary donations are also instrumental in our never-ending need for food—with nearly 400 dogs onsite, we go through hundreds of pounds of food each day. Our monthly donors are the heart and soul of our operation; they allow us to budget for each upcoming month and provide us with the reassurance of the funds we’ll have available to us. Everything we have, we receive from you. From leashes, toys, dog beds, and treats to dog food, dog crates, towels, sheets, and more, we will happily accept your donated items – bring them to our drop-off area at our front gate, anytime!
