The AMPI Puerto Peñasco Chapter continues to strengthen the real estate industry in Rocky Point through education, professionalism, ethics, and community outreach. With more than 170 members, the organization plays an important role in helping both Mexican Nationals and Foreigners navigate the growing real estate market in Puerto Peñasco with confidence.

AMPI, the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals, is affiliated with AMPI National and serves a role similar to the U.S. National Association of Realtors. Members of AMPI commit to ongoing education, ethical standards, and the licensing process required to professionally represent buyers and sellers in Mexico. In Puerto Peñasco, AMPI members are also the only real estate advisors authorized to utilize the local MLS system, helping provide a higher level of transparency and cooperation within the industry.

The new AMPI Puerto Peñasco Board of Directors was voted in on 12/4/25 and serves throughout 2026. The board is focused on transparency, education, ethics, professionalism, and community involvement while continuing to elevate the standards of the local real estate industry.

The 2026 Board Members include: Fabian Nieblas, President; Sadith Cota, Vice President

Angelina Soto, Treasurer; Leticia Marquez, Legal; Robin Miller, Secretary/VP Communications; Cinthya Guirado, VP Ethics; Carlos Gutierrez, VP Education; Astrid Avila, VP Events; Debbie Evans, MLS Liaison.

One of the primary goals of the organization is to increase professional standards among its members while educating the public on all aspects of homeownership in Rocky Point. As Puerto Peñasco continues to attract buyers from both Mexico and abroad, AMPI members are committed to helping clients understand the legal processes, regulations, and protections involved in purchasing property in Mexico.

Education remains one of the organization’s strongest priorities. AMPI members have access to ongoing educational opportunities that help them stay current on changing laws, regulations, and legal issues that may arise during real estate transactions. This commitment benefits not only the advisors themselves but also the consumers they serve.

A major educational milestone this year was the completion of Diplomado classes for both new and existing real estate advisors, organized and conducted by our VP of Education and other community volunteers that we work with. The program included 120 hours of instruction for 9 new licensees as well as 30 renewal hours for 20 existing advisors. The graduates celebrated their achievement during a graduation ceremony held on May 22 at Peñasco del Sol Hotel. The licensing and continuing education process helps ensure that advisors are equipped with the knowledge necessary to professionally guide clients through real estate transactions in Mexico.

Beyond education and professional standards, AMPI Puerto Peñasco has also expanded its involvement within the community through several outreach initiatives during 2026.

On Saturday, January 24, approx. 80 volunteers participated in a Beach Cleanup held at Playa Bonita in conjunction with ZOFEMAT. Volunteers included AMPI Board members, real estate advisors, and community participants who worked together to remove trash and help preserve one of Puerto Peñasco’s most valuable natural resources, its beaches. ZOFEMAT provided cleanup supplies, and all trash collected during the event was removed from the area. A biologist also joined the event to provide an educational presentation about the local coastal ecosystem and the importance of environmental conservation.

Community outreach continued on April 11 when AMPI representatives and local real estate advisors participated at Esperanza Casa Hogar para Los Niños to celebrate Día de Los Niños, as well as the grand opening of the organization’s new building designed for infants through 5 years old. The expansion was especially meaningful because it allows younger children to remain together in the same facility rather than being separated by age groups. AMPI members collected and donated a wide variety of needed items, including diapers, paper products, cleaning supplies, cakes for the celebration, and many other necessities to help support the children and staff.

AMPI Puerto Peñasco has also focused on developing the next generation of real estate professionals through new networking and mentorship initiatives.

The Jóvenes mixer was created to help younger agents and individuals interested in pursuing real estate careers connect with experienced professionals in the industry. The event encouraged mentorship, networking, leadership development, and collaboration while helping newer advisors build relationships that can support long-term professional success.

Additionally, a new Mujeres committee was established following the Dec. 2025 election results. The committee was created to support women in real estate by helping them expand their presence, professional expertise, and opportunities within the industry. The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to inclusion, leadership development, and continued professional growth.

AMPI Puerto Peñasco holds board meetings on the third Thursday of each month and encourages the community to learn more about the organization, its mission, and the benefits of working with professional AMPI members.
