Well, hello gorgeous! It’s November and, if I do say so myself, we are feeling and looking F.I.N.E. Puerto Peñasco will soon be full of beautiful motorcycles and lots of fun people! The whales should be making their way to us – and some are already here. And our bellies will be stuffed with Thanksgiving tamales, shrimp and, of course, turkey. There is lots to do and see this month and we’re very excited for you to come visit Puerto Peñasco and love it as much as we do.

I know some of you are worried about the Hwy. 8 construction and may be rethinking your trip(s). Absolutely do not deny yourself the opportunity to come visit, whether it’s for the Motorcycle Rally, Thanksgiving Weekend or just the rando getaway. It’s annoying – I get it, but it’s temporary and will be worth it in the end.

Having driven it myself, yeah, for sure, it’s not so much fun, but it isn’t that bad. (I’ve driven with y’all in the states and…well…let’s just leave it there.) I would definitely discourage driving at night and encourage you to pay attention and have some respect/courtesy for the driver(s) behind you. I’ve lived through the 90s hwy. construction where all we had were coffee cans lit on fire and the occasional DESVIACIÓN sign to let you know you were leaving the pavement and hitting the dirt. No giant reflective cones, no flagmen, no nada.. We’ve come a long way baby!

So, while driving Hwy. 8 right now can be daunting – especially during construction – it is definitely worth the small inconvenience. Once you hit the Sea of Cortez, pop a big blue, and crack open that ice cold Pacifico you won’t give it a second thought. And…imagine when you’re not dodging potholes on a brand-new Hwy. 8 – now that is SomeKindaDream! See you at the beach!
