“The Legion by the Sea”
Here we are, the ‘dog days’ of summer. August is upon us, and days are hotter than a two-dollar pistol! Of course, the water is warm, the sand is hot, and the air is redolent with humidity! It is at this time of year, only the truly brave…or the self-abusing, come to Peñasco to recreate. However, if you’re here, reading this column, you must be ready for it. There is nothing special happening at the post this month, probably because many members have fled to cooler climes, but the A/C is still cold, the drinks reasonably priced, and the food as well.
The pool at the Baja Hotel (where the Post is located), provides a much-needed cooling off place. You can enjoy a libation while dipping in the sparkling water and enjoying a relaxing time. It won’t be long before the weather returns to ‘gorgeous’ for the next nine months, and the oppressive heat and humiditywill be just a dim memory.
So, if you’re spending time in town this month, why not come down to the post? Once again, you can hang out, cool off, and enjoy yourself with karaoke starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evenings! So come on by for some good food, camaraderie, and a wonderful chance to meet new friends!
