We’re in the thick of it this month…it is HOT and HUMID in Rocky Point. Water usage is at an all-time high, and like so many other people and businesses in Puerto Peñasco, we’re suffering the consequences. We’re thankful for our water storage cisterns and the water delivery service that have helped us to get through, but it comes at a cost. The rescue requires two daily water deliveries, a daily expense of about $200. We have sand that needs to stay cool, dog swimming pools that need to stay full (they provide our dogs such relief from the brutal heat), and water bowls that require constant refreshing to keep their drinking water fresh and hydrating. Water shortages are nothing new to Barb’s Dog Rescue…every summer, we expect it to happen. But this year has been worse than anything we’ve ever experienced – more growth means less water to go around. That, combined with municipal equipment that is dated and in need of repairs, has resulted in a serious water problem for our city. Please consider making a donation to help us get through this challenge. Every little bit helps us so much! Donations can be made on our website, www.barbsdogrescue.org. We can’t wait for this to be over!

If you’re in Rocky Point now or are planning for a future visit, we’d love for you to come see what Barb’s Dog Rescue is all about! The rescue is an easy stop, just off the highway on your way into town. Look for the big, yellow billboard! We promise, a visit to Barb’s Dog Rescue will leave you with hope and happiness in your heart! Our dogs live in groups, have lots of room to run and play, and have the absolute best veterinary care in Puerto Peñasco, thanks to our incredible medical team at Services Medicos Veterinarios. We love and care for them, we teach them all the things we want our pets to learn, while they wait for their forever person to come and sweep them off their feet. We need more forever people! Please help us spread the word about our rescue and our 350+ dogs of all ages, shapes & sizes who are here and waiting for their lucky day – their first day of the rest of their lives. We are open to the public seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Donations of all kinds are happily accepted, all the time! Food, toys, sheets and towels and blankets, treats, dog beds…everything we have comes from your donations. Thank you, friends!
