La Cava Boutique de Vinos is now open, and its located right next door to Plaza Fabiola, across the street from Chango’s, on Sandy Beach. Designed and operated by Fabiola and her husband John and her sister Yurema. Decorated with beautiful painted wall murals, once you step in you can totally feel like you are in one of the wineries in the Valle de Guadalupe.

This new venture is representing 12 different wineries from Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe, with over 80 different wines to choose from! And half of that inventory are whites, roses and sparkling wines, which have previously been difficult to find in our town. The wineries represented are Baron Balche, Casa de Piedra, Casa Magoni, Casta de Vinos, Chateau Camou, El Cielo, Emeve, Finca MX, Las Nubes, Madera 5, Montefiori/Paoloni, and Xecue…a number of which are served at local restaurants, but previously unavailable at local grocery or liquor stores.

La Cava is more than just a wine shop…You can also find wonderful gourmet items like infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars, olives, chocolates, honey, natural fruit mineral waters, candles and even olive and grape based skin care products that smell delicious and La Cava souvenirs. They are open Thursday through Tuesday (closed Wednesday), from 11am to 6pm, offering daily wine tastings, featuring 3 selections from a different winery every week. They have delicious snacks to go along with your tasting. There’s a tasty charcuterie/cheese board with grapes, olives, bread and olive oil available for only $15…and before we forget, they do take debit or credit cards which is very convenient for most😊

La Cava Boutique de Vinos is small, with seating for no more than 10 people at the tasting table but has quickly become a cozy spot for locals and their friends to socialize over a glass of wine in the late afternoon, prior to heading off to dinner. For groups of 8 to 10 people, the tasting table can be reserved in advance, with a customized package to include 3 or 4 wines of your choice, charcuterie cheese boards, chocolates, etc. Just keep in mind that La Cava is not a restaurant and does not offer beer or any other types of alcohol. For wine lovers, it’s a fun opportunity to get a taste of Mexico’s Valle de Guadalupe, in a unique setting that makes you feel like you’re actually there!
