Dear Friends of Educarte,
As many of you are aware, since starting the Mexican non-profit Educarte in 2016, I have led our efforts on both sides of the border. There are no words to express how grateful I am for the support of so many of you over the past nine years. Together, we have been able to give hundreds of vulnerable young people in Puerto Peñasco the resources and support they needed to transform their futures. Today, the therapy clinic and private special education school operated by my local Educarte team is giving a growing number of young people with disabilities in the community hope for a better future.
While I will remain the Founder and President of Educarte Mexico, I am beyond excited to now have a new U.S non-profit partner taking the lead in supporting Educarte. I am pleased to have this opportunity to help you get to know the Victory Foundation and Bob Schumacher, who is the Foundation’s Development Director. I have been and will continue to work very closely with Bob and truly look forward to watching Educarte grow and thrive with the support of such an amazing organization and team on this side of the border.
With much gratitude,
Kathleen Duncan
Beyond Borders: Transforming Lives Through the Victory Foundation

The Victory Foundation was founded by Victory Schools CEO Nick Schuerman as the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of Victory Schools. Its mission is to generate philanthropic support for initiatives that extend beyond the scope of traditional school funding. Through the Foundation, we power high-impact programs that change lives, build brighter futures, and advance our vision of delivering equitable, transformative education to underserved students—both locally and around the world.
This global commitment comes to life through our partnership with the Mexican non-profit organization, Educarte. One of our most meaningful initiatives, Beyond Borders, directly supports the growth and long-term impact of Escuela de Victoria–our flagship international campus operated by Educarte in Rocky Point, Mexico. The Beyond Borders initiative is designed to bring consistent educational access, critical resources, and long-term stability to a region that is too often overlooked. Together, we’re offering hope, opportunity, and a high-quality education to students and families who need it most.
Meet our American Contact: Bob Schumacher

Hello Rocky Point Times Readers!
I’m honored to introduce myself as the new point of contact for Educarte here in the United States. Moving forward, the Victory Foundation—the nonprofit arm of Victory Schools—will proudly serve as Educarte’s official U.S. sponsor. This partnership allows us to bring even greater focus and sustainability to the powerful work happening every day at Educarte.
Over the past several months, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Kathleen Duncan to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition. Her passion and commitment to Educarte’s mission have guided this process every step of the way, and I’m honored to carry that work forward.
Our mission remains clear: to ensure that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have access to quality education, opportunity, and hope.
Saludos,
Bob
ABOUT ESCUELA DE VICTORIA’S SUMMER PROGRAM
This summer, the Victory Foundation is proud to support a special summer program operated by Educarte. The local team has organized a wonderful ‘Campamento Verano 2025’, providing a variety of fun and educational activities for young people with disabilities. The schedule includes: Animal Week, Chef Week, The World and Science, as well as special field trips.
WHY A SUMMER PROGRAM IS IMPORTANT
There are four primary reasons a summer program is important for students with special needs.
#1 Consistency: Consistency is important for all children, but especially critical for young people with special needs. Attending summer school helps create stability and relieves the stress of change for students.
#2 Socialization: For the most part, students at Escuela de Victoria are with the same classmates throughout the school year. A summer program offers an opportunity for students to play and communicate with friends who are not in their classes during the school year.
#3 Specialized Skills: During summer school, students are able to practice specific skills they need before they go to the next grade.
#4 Fun Activities: Although summer school is important for practicing specific skills, it can also be very enjoyable for students. Educarte’s summer program included fun activities that challenged students but were different from what they do within the regular classroom.
