September is here; the temps and humidity are as well…BUT, things are starting to cool down on that front. They are heating up at the post, though, because as the weather returns to our usual “wonderful” until next summer, we at the Legion are gearing up for more fun things to do when in town. After our successful “Christmas in July” barbecue/social, the usual diversions, Bingo, Karaoke, and Pool (both swimming and billiards!) are ongoing. The kitchen is hopping too, providing great meals at very reasonable prices and, as always, the beer is cold, and your favorite cocktails are too!
The Legion Riders want you to know that we will be hosting a barbecue event for the upcoming Rocky Point Rally (the largest motorcycle rally in all of Mexico!) on Friday, November 7th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, chips and soft drinks are on the menu and if you, or anybody you know, attended one of our previous barbecues, you’ll know the food is great too! If you are planning to attend the rally or just be in town during that holiday (Veterans’ Day) weekend, please stop by and say hello!
In the interim, if you’re in town between now and then, stop by the post for a cold one and enjoy the camaraderie that our post is famous for! Remember, you do not have to be a veteran or an American Legion Member to enjoy the post! We hope to see you there!
