November is upon us once again, and the Post is jumping with lots of activities for our members and guests. First, on Friday, November 7th, the ALR will be hosting a barbecue from 2:30 to 6:30…or maybe later??? All are invited in celebration of Bike Week. Hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, chips, and soft drinks are on the menu, and if you, or anybody you know, attended one of our previous barbecues, you’ll know the food is great, too! If you are planning to attend the Bike Rally or just be in town during that holiday weekend, please stop by and say hello! Also, the Post will help celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps on November 10th. We will have a birthday cake at noon, just before bingo. Of course, November 11th is the commemoration of Veterans’ Day, and the Post will have a ceremony marking this solemn occasion starting at 11 a.m.

Moving further into November is our Thanksgiving Day potluck. Cost is $10 per person, and the meal starts serving at 1 p.m. Following the Thanksgiving dinner, at 4 p.m., Post #15 will begin our annual “Turkey Trot” (providing dinner to our local beach vendors and their families). As always, the public is welcome. So come on over and enjoy the fun. Of course, the usual diversions at the post are still available: Bingo, Karaoke, and Pool (both swimming [for those who can stand the cold water] and billiards!) are ongoing. The kitchen is hopping too, providing great meals at very reasonable prices and, as always, the beer is cold as are the cocktails!

Remember, too, that the Legion provides mail service from Lukeville to Peñasco on a weekly basis. The service is the cheapest in town at $20.00 a month, $60.00 a quarter, and a free month for an annual subscription. As well, there is a $10 per package charge for items too large to fit in your mailbox.

You can watch all the football you can stand with three screens…and an ocean view at the post, too! So, if you’re in town, stop by the Post for a cold one and enjoy the camaraderie that our post is famous for! Remember, you do not have to be a veteran or an American Legion Member to enjoy the post! We hope to see you there!
