Rescue purchase dog food will be matched, up to $20,000!
The Why Not Travel Store and you – the
Rocky Point traveler – play an essential role in feeding our dogs. Finding
affordable, protein-rich food in large quantities is a challenge here in
Mexico. For that reason, we purchase our food by the pallet, in the USA. It’s
then transported to the Why Not Travel Store, where you (our heroes!) pick it
up one bag at a time (the Mexico border limits food to 50 lbs. per vehicle) and
deliver it to the rescue. If you are a frequent dog food transporter, you may
have noticed that our food supply in Why has been low this year – and this is our
chance to change that. If Barb’s Dog Rescue can raise $20,000 for dog food, our
angel donor will match it! The goal? Pack Why Not’s storage unit to the brim,
so that there will be a bag for every person that stops and wants to help.
There’s an old adage that says, “it takes a
village”. That expression certainly applies here, and each time a car filled
with happy travelers pulls up to the rescue with a bag of food in tow, we feel
the love. If you’ve never transported food to Barb’s Dog Rescue, we highly recommend
it! There is no better way to kick off your Rocky Point vacation – you’ll be
greeted by our 449 dogs who will thank you with their wagging tails, and if
you’re a lover of dog kisses, you’ll receive plenty of those too! And maybe,
just maybe, you’ll fall in love. Arrive with a bag of food and leave with
something even more precious – a Mexi dog of your very own!

The numbers are hard to imagine. Seeing it
first hand is a sight to behold…many of you have visited and have witnessed
the magic for yourselves. 449 dogs who are safe, healing from their emotional
and physical wounds, and will never spend another day trying to survive. Here,
they will only thrive.

As our population explodes, so do the
expenses. Our food supply is running low, but thanks to the kindness of a group
of supporters, we have the opportunity to fill our pantry and keep the Why Not
Travel Store stocked with dog food. Help us raise $20,000, and we will receive
$40,000 – enough to feed our furry family for five months!

is Rocco, who, despite having access to a kiddie pool, often chooses the bucket
of water. He does what he wants! Rocco is two years old, is the perfect mix of
