Greetings and happy summer from Barb’s Dog Rescue! It’s getting hot, and we are working hard to keep our furry family cool and comfortable in this blistering heat. We’re continually wetting down the sand to keep puppy paws cool; we have lots of swimming pools for frolicking and cool water fun (Thank you, One Dog One Bone Pools), and are so grateful to our friends at Shade ‘N Net for providing us with heavy duty shades that hold up to the wind and the heat!
We’ve been having a great time getting out and about! Adoption events are a blast for us, and it’s so fun for our dogs to be the recipients of all the attention they receive when they get to strut their stuff at local businesses! Thank you to Borracho’s Cantina and Banditos for hosting us! We hope you had a chance to stop by our booth at Circus Mexicus – thank you to everyone who stopped by! It was good for our souls to hear your stories about Barb, see pictures of your BDR rescues, and chat about our favorite topic, DOGS! Did you know that we have branded Barb’s Dog Rescue gear available for purchase! We’re working on our online store, but in the meantime, you can drop by the rescue anytime to buy your goodies. We have drink koozies, stickers, hoodies, t-shirts and tank tops available. If you’re not In Rocky Point but would like to make a purchase, just email us (barbsdogrescue@gmail.com) and we will arrange for items to be shipped to you!
We are paving our new dog park with personalized, engravable bricks! Make a $100 donation and receive your very own brick! Bricks can be engraved with your name, your pet’s name(s), a message of inspiration, or anything you’d like! You tell us what you’d like your brick to say, and we will handle the rest, including having your brick shipped straight to us. We also have beautiful, engravable stone benches that we’re hoping to place in shady, comfy areas throughout the rescue. They are beautiful and can also be engraved with anything you desire! Our adopters and rescue partners are such a blessing! Because of them, and all of you, nearly 350 dogs have made their way to the USA so far this year – amazing! If you know of an Arizona rescue that might be interested in partnering with BDR, please have them get in touch with us. All of our dogs are fully vetted, vaccinated, and of course spayed/neutered before leaving the rescue.
We invite you to visit the rescue any day between 10am-4pm! Our dogs love visitors, and your vacation to Rocky Point will be made even better by adding a visit to BDR to your itinerary! If you’re considering adoption and have a pet friendly condo/home here, think about taking a dog on vacation! Our fluffy friends are all so deserving of a break from shelter life!
We are always accepting supply and food donations – anything “dog,” used or new, will be happily accepted! As always, monetary donations are always needed and greatly appreciated. To know Louise is to love Louise! This beautiful young lady is approx. 50lbs and will be 2yrs old in December. She came to us with a broken jaw, but she is all fixed up and ready to go! In spite of the cruelty, she likely faced at the hands of humans, she is a people dog and loves to snuggle. She is the perfect mix of love and playfulness! Louise gets along with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and we can’t wait to see her all settled into a cozy, loving home!
