Number 194 in a Series

Cap’n Greg hopes you had a really nice holiday season. If you are like most people, the whole month of December is a time for giving. You buy things for family and friends, send cards and support worthy causes. It makes you feel good. I know, because I do it, too. But here’s the thing. After December is over, the need in Rocky Point doesn’t go away when you do. There are still many worthy causes to support, and they can use your help no matter what month the calendar displays.

I am not affiliated with any of the following, but I have been assured all will make the most of any contributions.

Centro Comunitario Palabras de Esperanza

The Words of Hope Community Center

Callejón Juan Aldama 668 between Avenidas 68 and 69

83550 Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico

(638) 690-1531

The Words of Hope Community Center is fiscally sponsored by Partners in Action, a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit. See for donation information.

Casa Hogar

Established in 1992, Casa Hogar is a home for the aged, located on Blvd. Josefa O. de Dominguez in Colonia Oriente next door to the cathedral. You can get information by entering “Casa Hogar Puerto Peñasco MX” into your browser. Casa Hogar has ongoing needs for personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and sugar, bread, rice, beans and flour.

Casa Hogar Esperanza Para Los Niños

Callejón Ignacio Comonfort 401 (south off the highway, 24 km north of Peñasco)

83553 Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico

This facility was created especially for young children. They are not up for adoption. Check out for more information.

Give whatever you can, whenever you can. It’s a great way to have that gratifying December giving feeling all year ’round. Cap’n Greg says Muchas Gracias.
