We have almost 400 precious rescue dogs in our care. Some are very young, some are very old, some struggle in the chaos of the rescue environment, and some need a little extra love and attention. Might you be a hero for one of our dogs? If you will open your home and your heart, we will provide everything else! From vaccines, food, vet care, doggie beds and toys, and leashes, we will give you a hearty supply of everything you need to keep your furry guest happy and healthy.
Fostering a rescue dog is such a feel-good experience, and while we understand that it’s hard to let them go to their forever homes when they’re adopted, the socialization our foster families provide is truly priceless. Yes, some fosters “fail” and make their dogs permanent members of their family, and we’re good with that! Please consider stopping by the rescue to meet our foster candidates, and we will help you find your perfect match. We promise a visit to Barb’s Dog Rescue will fill your heart with joy! Even if you aren’t able to foster, the dogs love visitors and will greet you with their waggly tails and happy howls when you arrive! We welcome you to stop by any day between 10am – 4pm… We would love to take you on a tour, give you a pocket full of treats, and let you experience the magic that is Barb’s Dog Rescue.
Barb’s Dog Rescue is partnering with Valley businesses, and hosting adoption events near you!
We have been having a blast at our AZ adoption events and are overwhelmed by the support we’ve received to help make them a success! We’ve been welcomed by several Valley businesses, including Twin Tails Cageless Grooming, Tractor Supply, and more. We’ve even had the opportunity to travel to Prescott & Flagstaff–so wonderful! We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Petco in Avondale, and we hope you’ll come see us at an event in AZ! Please visit our website (www.barbsdogrescue.org) for info on our upcoming events. Rescue never stops. Our work takes a village, and we are very thankful for ours!
Gillian is a 6-year-old Mama dog (53lbs) who was rescued from people who mistreated her and did not care for her. Sadly, she lost her babies. She has been with us for over a year and she’s an angel. She deserves a loving foster or forever home!
