Can you help Barb’s Dog Rescue by bringing our furry friends a bag of food?
Welcome to springtime in our little hunk of paradise! March is an exciting time here in Rocky Point, as our city begins to bustle with sun seekers and spring breakers. If you’re here now, we have a pro-tip for you; make your vacation even more spectacular by paying a visit to Barb’s Dog Rescue! The happiness begins at the front gate, where you’ll be greeted by loads of loving dogs, who live together, have plenty of room to run and play, and they have mastered the art of greeting human guests. Stop by any day between 10am – 4pm and spend a little time with man’s best friend…maybe, just maybe, you’ll fall in love and decide to add a new furry friend to your family!
If you follow Barb’s Dog Rescue’s social media pages, you’re probably familiar with our partnership with the Why Not Travel Store. For many years, we’ve been the recipient of monthly anonymous food donations that have been delivered to Why, where travelers have been able to pick up a bag and deliver it to the rescue. Mexico’s rules only allow for 50 lbs. per vehicle, so thanks to all of you, this food has made it to our rescue, one bag at a time. How cool is that!?
Sadly, our anonymous donations, which accounted for approximately half of our annual dog food needs, have come to an end. We are in the midst of a dog food emergency and to get through it, we will need your help. Please consider purchasing some poultry or seafood-based dog food to drop off at the rescue. You can purchase dog food while you’re here in Peñasco or bring it from the States. If you want to bring more than 50 lbs., just drop the extra at The WhyNot Travel Store in Why, and we’ll rally other travelers to help us bring it down. If we all do a little, we can make up for this devastating loss for Barb’s Dog Rescue.
Have a beautiful trip, and we hope to see you soon!
