As we have been publishing, the Mermaid’s Market has adjusted its dates from a strict “1st and 3rdSaturday” schedule to “Selected Saturdays.” Moving into May, you will find us at the Plaza del Camaron on two Saturdays: On May 10th and then we will host our Season Finale on May 24th (Memorial Day Weekend).
The Mermaid’s Market has become an integral part of our community! Well known for its eclectic mix of artisans, craftspeople, and vendors offering a spectacular array of handmade goods, art, and local products, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their creations and connect with our community.
This year we are very excited to be bringing back the Pirate “Takeover” at the Mermaid’s Market! It has been a few years, but once again the day will include Pirate and Mermaid Costume Contests! There will be CASH PRIZES along with other prizes in four categories: Adult Pirate, Adult Mermaid, Child Pirate, and Child Mermaid. For this Season Finale on May 24th, we will also present live music throughout the day along with a few other surprises.
It is interesting to look back at the Photo Albums that we have archived on our website. (TAB: Pirate & Mermaid Season Finale) Looking back to the Season Finale event we had in 2017, there was a grand total of 20 vendors. Today, we average between 50 and 60 vendors. We have certainly grown over the years! And yet, at least seven of those vendors are still with us – at nearly every market!
