The Mermaid’s Market is completing our 14th Season this month. We will be documenting the end of another successful season with our once-a-year Pirate & Mermaid Party on Saturday, May 23rd.
Since 2025, we have been steering away from our old “1st and 3rd Saturday” schedule. For this month of May in 2026, you will find the Mermaid’s Market at the Plaza del Camaron on two Saturdays: first on May 9th, and then we will host our Season Finale on May 23rd (Memorial Day Weekend).
The Mermaid’s Market has become an integral part of our community! With over 50 vendors, it is well-known for its eclectic mix of artisans, craftspeople, and vendors offering a spectacular array of handmade goods, art, and local products, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their creations and connect with our community.
Our “Finale” Pirate and Mermaid event traditionally has a bit of a “New Orleans” theme. These festivities include unexpected delights from our food and drink vendors! And, our Zydeco and Summer Music Playlist might have you dancing through the park. We just may have a few other entertainment surprises for your enjoyment, too.
The Pirate and Mermaid Costume Contest is always a fun contest. There will be great CASH PRIZES (along with other prizes) in four categories: Adult Pirate, Adult Mermaid, Child Pirate, and Child Mermaid. So, we encourage you to dig out that Pirate or Mermaid Outfit and get into the fun of the day! “Ahoy Mateys!” Don’t be shy!
