Max’s Café…It’s the MAX for all of your meals!!!
My son Zack and I recently sat down for breakfast at Max’s Café with John McBride. He, along with his wife Max, has owned and operated Max’s Café for the last 13 years. Max’s has always had a great following for breakfast and lunch with people coming from all over for their chilaquiles and expresso drinks. But the talk of the town of late is their amazing dinners. The dinners vary from chateaubriand to thin crust pizzas, but the best thing about Max’s dinners is, not only are they top shelf, but the prices are equally attractive which helps us all in these tougher times. Heck, you only live once, tell them Marco said you owe it to yourself, so use the savings on a large extra glass of vino!
Zack and I had the pleasure of ordering our breakfast from Perla. We tried the flapjacks and sesame bagel topped with egg whites, tomatoes and onions. Perla has been a long time waitress at Max’s and is always there to greet you and serve you with a smile. She concocted some really cool hot chocolate drinks for us on the expresso machine. Great work Perla! And the food was muy BUENO! Max’s has indoor seating at various tables, indoor bar seating and outdoor patio seating accompanied by a fire pit. They offer free phone service to America and free WIFI and internet service. While I was there, I logged onto their WIFI and caught up on some American emails until I realized, isn’t this why I am here?! So, off went the computer and emails, ahhhhh, relaxation, Mexico!!! Max’s also offers a full bar and has an amazing Bloody Mary, which they claim has13 ingredients…I would tend to say 14…you have to include VIBE…as the place has a cool vibe to it.
Max’s always has specials each day but hugely popular is Thursday and Sunday night as they offer ½ price chicken wings. So, if you are into wings that come in 8 different flavors and are looking for a bargain, Max’s would be a great place to check out. The restaurant is open EVERYDAY. Around 7:30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Max’s has live music playing a wide variety of American and Mexican classics. Max’s is located off of Calle 13 on Paseo Las Glorias across from the Peñasco del Sol Hotel. So, please check out Max’s Café and say. “Hi”, to John and Perla and the whole gang. Tell them Marco sent you for one of the best Bloody Mary’s in town!
Best wishes to all for a super June 2012! Always remember to live in the present moment. Yesterday is gone…it’s history! Tomorrow has not arrived. NOW is here for you to enjoy. Look around you NOW and soak up life. It is your gift to yourself EVERY day. So, treat yourself to another beautiful day…and hopefully, your treat is another relaxing day right here in Mexico’s best beach, our very own Rocky Point!!! ADIOS AMIGOS and see you at the beach!
